RIO NEW YEARS 2007 - SUMMARY

It is amazing that we are getting ready for our third New Years in Rio. So many great things have happened since our first event in 2004. Who would of thought that gathering a group of friends in an exotic location would lead to an annual event that is now part of a tradition of one of the most beautiful cities of the world!

We have, for the past three years partnered with Mercado de Madureira to bring back the procession and luau of Iemanja (Goddess of all oceans) to the beaches of Copacabana. Becoming a favorite annual event enjoyed by thousands. The marvelous city or 'cuidade maravillosa ‘as Carioca's lovingly refers it, has placed the Yemanja Music Festival on the cities official events calendar. A true honor!

Yemanja Music Festival gave birth to (YMP). The Yemanjá Music Project © , a thematic event, presenting global multi-cultural traditions through, music, dance, visual arts, popular food and spirits. This event now travels the world. YMP was invited by The Brazilian Film Festivals of Miami and New York to host their official anniversary celebrations.

We also became social partners with The Dreams Can Be Foundation , reaching out to Brazilian street children and abandoned youth- supporting programs that save lives.

But, most importantly we have made many loyal friends that came on board to support our events. Creating an international stage for good will and making a difference through their participation.

We look forward to ringing in 2007 with you!

Best Regards

Geo Darder

Yemanjá Music Project in the Brazilian Film Festival - 2006

Geo Darder, Cuban artist, gave us an extraordinary present: Yemanjá Music Project. To Count on this celebration for the 10th anniversary of the Brazilian Film Festival in Miami and the 4th in New York is a blessing from this female deitity, Yemanjá.

The arrival of a friend Geo to the festival was magical, a thing from God and Goddesses!!
