Rio de Janeiro
2006
Geo-grafix would like to extend its gratitude to the city of Rio de Janeiro and its beautiful people for embracing our Rio New Years events. The Yemanja Music Festival in honor of the Goddess of all oceans preceded the traditional procession of Iemanja where thousands of worshippers come to pay homage. Casting homemade boats filled with offerings to their beloved goddess. Many of the faithful lit candles to the sacred image reining atop a baroque sand temple designed by local sandcastle masters. A fireworks display of camera flashes went on though the evening marking Iemanja the true celebrity of the evening.
800 VIPs from around the world attended YMF. Among them many Brazilian television and film celebrities, film actor David Keith, Prince of Monaco Andreas Casiraghi and girlfriend Tatiana Santo Domingo. DJs Erick Paredes and Dudu Dub evoked tribal rhythms while brazils top percussionist elevated the spirits of all in attendance. The group Macumba headed by Fabio Santa-Ana. ( Rio 's celebrated NYE posto seis DJ) exerted the state of euphoria, transcending the guest into hypnotic bliss.

On the following day we gathered to dine at 00 restaurant, one of Rio’s trendy hip- hotspots with its lush in and outdoor garden lounges. Star gazing is common and at arms reach. It is no wonder 00 is located in the city’s Planetarium .We were treated to a special private performance by the newly formed group TREZ featuring Alexis Bontiempo, Pierre Aderne and Dadi.

Our New Years party was hailed three consecutive years by local media as one of the top six New Years parties of Rio de Janeiro . The theme of the night was “Liberation of Self”. The VIP duplex skybox penthouse, overlooking Copacabana Beach became the launch pad propelling 300 guest dressed in white towards an inspirational vortex to 2006. DJ's Eric Paredes, Dudu Dub, Terry Casey and Fabio Santana accompanied the group Macumbah, boosting partygoers to climatic explosions and emerging them into the world's largest fireworks display. Geo-grafix looks forward having you with us again this year to welcome 2007.

Muito Obrigado, Geo Darder
